Renaissance Crescent is a sunny shawl with bands of stranded and lace knitting in a rainbow of harmonizing natural colors, evoking the warmth of Mediterranean climes - terracotta, sunshine and flowers.

The 18 shades of Blue-faced Leicester 4-ply Yarn are hand-dyed with traditional natural dyestuffs in the south of France by Andie Luijk of Renaissance Dyeing.

A kit is available from Renaissance Dyeing.

This is an intermediate knit, combining simple lace knitting and simple back-and-forth stranding with two colors per row. There are some long rows towards the end, and a narrow knitted-on border.

Finished dimensions: approximately 53cm/21in deep
at center back by 168cm/66in wide
Gauge: approximately 26 sts and 30 rows = 10cm/4in
in stranded knitting on 2.75mm/US2 needles
