The Ribbed Foldover Dress is an easy, seamless knit, worked from the top down in a basic rib stitch. The fitted top begins with a ruffled foldover neckline (the ruffle is optional and added at the end), then flows into A-line skirt gradually increasing stitches to the hem.
Why I love using rib stitch for dresses? - Because it’s stretchy and adapts beautifully to different body shapes - no need for exact measurements, it fits comfortably and flatters naturally.
The pattern is available in four sizes and is shown in the S/M size on a model who is 161 cm tall.

SKILL LEVEL: Beginner. Sts used: K, p, m1p, m1k, yo.

MATERIALS REQUIRED
• King Cole Summer 4 ply (shade 4568 Iris): 5, (6, 7, 7) x 100 g balls 2250, (2700, 3150, 3150) m or 2461, (2953, 3445, 3445) yds.
NOTE King Cole is a great bamboo and cotton summer yarn with moderate rib hold but not stretchy. If you wish more stretchy yarn use Rico Socks Cotton Stretch 4 ply or any other stretchy sock weight yarn. If you substitute another yarn, please check tension and yardage.
• 1 Circular needle 2 ½ mm x 60 cm (US 1 ½).
• 1 Circular needle 3.0 mm x 60 cm (US 2 ½).
• 1 Circular needle 3.0 mm x 80 cm (US 2 ½).
NOTE Needle size is only a guide - if you get too many stitches for 10cm, take a larger needle size. If you get too few stitches for 10cm, take a smaller needle size. It’s very important to check your gauge (tension) before starting as working to the wrong tension will mean your garment won’t be size shown.
• 1 Tapestry needle.
• 1 Stitch Marker.

GAUGE (Tension): 28 sts and 42 rows = 10cm (4 in), measured over rib st, (garment being blocked), using 3mm (US 2 ½) needle.

SIZES: S/M, (M/L, L/XL, XL/2XL)
To fit bust (cm): S/M (80- 90), M/L (90- 98), L/XL (98- 106), XL/2XL (106- 114).
To fit bust (in): S/M (32- 36), M/L (36- 39), L/XL (39- 42), XL/2XL (42- 45).
NOTE The dress is designed with 2- 6cm (¾ - 2 ¼ in) of negative ease due to the ribbing, so it will stretch to fit the upper body snugly.
Pattern is written for smallest size with changes to bigger in parentheses. Each different colour font represents a different size.

ACTUAL MEASUREMENTS AFTER BLOCKING (slightly stretched)
Flat width (just below armhole) - 42, (46, 50, 54) cm / 17, (18, 20, 21) in.
Length (from underarm) - 68, (68, 69, 70) cm / 26 ¾, (26 ¾, 27, 27 ½) in.
NOTE Close- fitting with negative ease, because of rib pattern.
Due to the rib pattern and yarn composition, the dress my stretch by
5cm to 7cm in length and width after washing, blocking, and wearing.
