• DESCRIPTION:
The Rope stitch creates a lacy, open fabric. It’s composed of the simple V stitch which just uses chain and DC stitches. This stitch is great for adding interest to almost any project or creating a lightweight blanket, scarf, or other project.

• GAUGE & SIZING:
Gauge (tension) isn’t very important in this project. For reference, my gauge is 6 V sts and 7 rows per 4”.
Play around with hook sizes until you find one that makes a fabric you like. This pattern is written to produce a washcloth that is roughly 8 inches by 8 inches.

• ABBREVIATIONS & STITCHES USED:
ch = chain
sk = skip
sp = space
DC = double crochet
V st = (DC, ch 1, DC)
* * = Repeat what is in asterisks the indicated number of times
( ) = Work all in the same st or sp

• MATERIALS:
About 40-60 yards of Paintbox Yarns Cotton Aran or any #4 cotton or cotton blend.
A 4.0 mm (F) hook
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Stitch markers if desired.
