This lace weight shawl is an elegant summer accessory.
It is knitted from the centre top with a garter stitch tab beginning and a triangular construction. The addition of a couple of little panels really help it mould to the body and stay put when wearing it..
The eyelet rows give it a touch of elegance while being easy to memorise. So once you’ve started it is a simple knit.
The pattern uses one skein (800 metres) of Fybrespates Gleem Lace .
Because it is a non fitted accessory, gauge is not crucial.
Shawl measures a wingspan of 130cm and is 58 cm deep at centre point.
To shorten or lengthen repeat or omit repeating section 2 - 8.
Although written for lace weight, this pattern works well in four ply. For the fingering weight/ 4 ply version use 4mm needles and approximately the same meterage of yarn (bear in mind it will therefore be bigger). Otherwise all the instructions are as given for the original version.
