The Sarah Ann Bonnet is an eyelet lace pattern worked back and forth from the face towards the back of the head. The crown is worked in the round with decreases on double pointed needles or circular needles if using the magic loop method. After this, a neckband is made which is then sewn to the bonnet with a seam. A diagram is shown on how to sew the seam. Lastly, a button is sewn to the bonnet.

Skills required are: Knit, purl, slip slip knit, yarn over, working in the round, and sewing a seam.

Suggested needles: Size 4 mm (U.S. size 6) needles, size 4 mm double pointed needles, or work entire project on circular needles and decrease using the magic loop method. Try a size smaller or larger if you are not able to obtain gauge.

Materials: 90 meters/100 yards of yarn for all sizes.

Also needed: 2.5 cm/1inch button, yarn needle and sewing needle and thread for seaming neckband and attatching button.

Sizes: 0-3 months (3-6 months) 6-12 months

Gauge: 23 sts and 30 rows on 10 x 10 cm/4 inches

Suggested yarn: 4 Seasons Marvel Soft 8 ply
