Save our Oceans is a two-color ribbed cuff beanie with a perky whale motif created through duplicate stitch after the hat is knit. The pattern is written for a 12-24 month toddler, but can easily be adjusted for older children and babies by casting on more or fewer stitches in any even number, and adding or subtracting rows in the body of the hat. I recommend using the stretchy Ribbed Cable Cast On for the bottom edge. Another reason to love knitting this adorable little hat is the switch from in-the-round to back-and-forth knitting at the crown, a technique that eases the pain of knitting tiny top rounds.

The neck scarf could not be a more simple design. A garter stitch rectangle is crossed over itself diagonally and stitched together so that it slips over the little ocean-saver’s head.
