This warm cuffed hat and snug neck warmer will keep even the coldest winds at bay for a tween, teen, or young/small adult.

Knit with bulky weight yarn, Tre Colori is a 3-color hat with both narrow and wide stripes. The fold-up brim is done in a 1x1 rib, while the body of the hat is textured in a mistake-rib stitch. I used bulky weight yarn in a soft washable merino made in Italy. This yarn was a pleasure to work with, so soft and easy on the hands. The hat is worked flat and seamed up the back.

Neck warmers and gaiters are often made completely straight, leaving the lower neck exposed to the elements. Mine is knit in the round, and designed to flare out slightly at the bottom edge for maximum coverage and comfort. The straight neck portion is high enough to wear 3 ways: scrunched up under the chin, folded over for a cuffed turtleneck appearance, or stretched high over the face and nose.
