Inspiration:
What better than a Norwegian historical design flipped on its head…. literally…. it’s a very old historical pattern hooliganed by me and flipped upside down to create this magical funky effect.
Colours remind me of Sweden, thus the name. Honouring the Scandinavian flare.

Gauge:
20 st in 32 rows in 4 cm /4-inch blocked swatch in stranded colour work pattern or
19 st in 32 rows in 4 cm/4-inch blocked swatch in plain stockinette stitch

Needles: size 7 US (4.5 mm) circulars and same size dpns for crown decreases.

Yarn: Malabrigo Rios in Bobby Blue and Frank Ochre 1 skein each

Sizes:
• XS/XXS (child) head circumference 14inches at start of colour work pattern, 15 inches at brim.
• S/M head circumference 19 inches at start of colour work pattern, 20 inches at brim.
• L/XL head circumference 24 inches at start of colour work pattern, 25 inches at brim.
shown in size S/M

Notes about construction:
Knitted on same size needles throughout, the effect of brim is done by folding the brim under and attaching to cast on edge. This stiffens the fabric and makes it flare out, gauge in plain stockinette is slightly larger (as stranded colour work is usually a bit tighter)
Knitted bottom up.

Skills required:
Perfect for beginner in fair isle
Knit, colorwork, colorwork chart reading, ssk, double brim.

Stitch count for sizes provided consecutively, if one number given it applies to all sizes.
