Shrouded in mystery, sea turtles swim to us out of the mists of time, having survived extinction where dinosaurs didn’t. Three of the seven species are now endangered, two critically. Sea turtles are a fundamental link in maintaining our marine ecosystems by helping maintain the health of sea grass beds and coral reefs. Let’s do our part to make sure they don’t go extinct.

5 inches/12 cm across X 10 inches/25.5 cm long

Yarn Pick a light fingering weight yarn that will give you good stitch definition and a contrast yarn in the same weight. You will need 50g of yarn.
• I used Cheshire Cat by Wonderland Yarns & Frabjous Fibers (400yd/100g) with a US 2 knitting needle, knitting the cuff in one shade, using a contrast accent color, and then a 3rd color to make up the main body of the mitt. You may choose to knit it with one color, one color and contrast, or 3 colors.
Beads You will need 24 size 6 beads. (10 perr shell, 2 per each turtle for the eyes)
Knitting Needles US 2 (2.75 mm) and 1.5 (3.25 mm), or whatever size needles depending on your knitting gauge and if you want a larger or smaller mitt.
Notions Cable needle, crochet hook for adding beads, darning needle for sewing in loose ends.
Gauge Blocked (knit in the round): 16 stitches X 20 rounds = 5 cm/2 inches in Stockinette knit in-the-round
