Our patterns are always available for free, because we want everyone to be able to take part. But if you can, please consider purchasing your pattern for the equivalent of a coffee.

This pattern has been created through Knit for Wildlife’s “Knitters in Residence”. Exploring the global decline of seabirds through the remarkable story of Vega World Heritage. A unique symbiosis between people and eiders.

Seabird Inspiration: Adapt the colors in this pattern to represent any seabird by choosing colors inspired by its plumage. I encourage you to explore seabirds in your region and select a local species. This can help foster a sense of place while knitting and celebrate the birds that call your region home.

Construction:
This pattern is worked flat from the nape of the garment to the tip. The pattern utilizes 6-row repeats, where every first row includes a cable crossover.
