SEQUENCE is a large, squishy shawl that indulges in color and texture play! It is an engaging and stimulating project that keeps you excited about how the next section will turn out. The result is a stunning interest piece to keep you warm and snuggly in the colder months.

The shawl is worked sideways and flat, beginning in a corner and increasing along the right edge to form an asymmetrical triangle. Garter edging is added to the shawl edges before binding off with Icelandic Bind Off.

Fun Tip: The sections of bumpy, granny-stitch style fabric show how grouped colors can optically blend together. This phenomenon is used in the painting technique Pointillism. Pointillism paintings are fun to view from a distance and up close to see how different collections of colors interact. In that spirit, I enjoy laying the shawl out and stepping back to see the different shades that are created with the four rotated colors.
