This pattern is available as a free Ravelry download

A basic sock pattern that I have been using for family socks for several years and had previously only shared with friends.

Knit in your choice of a single colour (the pattern as written) or stripes (instructions available in my DK-weight Gippy Socks also free on Ravelry). Choose anklets for summer wear or mid calf for cool weather. Use the pattern as a starting point for adding your own choice of colourwork.

You must already have the ability to cast on for a toe up sock, knit in the round magic loop style, and change colours neatly on each round (if choosing to work stripes).

Yarn used in sample:
Main photo (teal) used Waratah Fibres sock yarn.

You will require a minimum of 200 metres for a rollover anklet (no ribbing) as shown in the sample of the third size, and appx 250 metres for a short leg plus ribbing shown in the larger size (to be linked at a later date).

Gauge:
28 sts and 34 rounds to 10cm

Needles and Notions:
2.25mm - 1 metre circular for magic loop OR size to suit gauge
A longer circular will be required if you wish to work two at a time.
Measuring tape and/or a sock ruler.
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends.
