This is a versatile pattern that will produce an item that can be used as a rug, bed throw, animal sleeping mat, or as a decorative item.

Size: Instructions are for one size, can be adjusted longer/wider if wanted. The finished size of the rug pictured in this pattern is 34 inches long (from nose to back toes), with 17 inches across the middle belly section.

Yarn: The snout, legs, and body section of this rug are knitted with three strands of yarn held together, which makes for a very thick, plush rug or blanket. Recommended yarns for this pattern include:
2 strands of Red Heart SuperSaver in Aran, each 350 yds (body colour)
350 yds of Lion Brand Wool-Ease Chunky in Fisherman (body colour)
2 strands of Red Heart SuperSaver in Café Latte, each 120 yds (snout and leg colour)
120 yds of Red Heart SuperSaver in Light Brown (snout and leg colour)
15 yds Red Heart Super Saver in Black (nose colour)
15 yds Red Heart Super Saver in Buff (Inner ear colour)

However, make this sheep your own! Experiment with colour choices - fluffy black Hebridean? How about a Herdwick? or a classic Suffolk! A Ryeland would be adorable! As would a Bluefaced Leicester. The possibilities are endless!

Needles: US 15 (10 mm), or size needed to obtain gauge/size that is easiest for you to work with.

Other Materials: 2 black 1-inch buttons for eyes
