Silence Tee takes its name from a quote reportedly from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: “Music is not in the notes, but in the silence between.” The design is modeled after Mozart’s music, meshing simplicity and drama in a garment that looks more difficult to make than it is. Beginning with two small strips of lace, the body of the tee is picked up and knit top down. The shoulders and neck are shaped with short rows. Many features of the tee are adjustable per the knitter’s preferred fit (notes in the pattern!) The boxy silhouette is cool and comfortable for warm weather. Thoughtful details, such as the lace shoulders and square neckline framed with a contrasting bindoff, are inspired by the clothing of Mozart’s time but have been translated into wearable modern style.

Pattern has been tech edited and tested. Lace pattern is charted only.
