So 麻煩 (máfan)
Just in time for Chinese New Year! The back features the Chinese phrase 麻煩 (máfan), which directly translates to “troublesome”, but it really encompasses all the feelings of inconvenience, bother, annoyance, and general “pain in the ass”-ness. The front showcases a simple recurring 喜 (xǐ) “happiness” motif.
Máfan is a very common Chinese phrase (or at least I use it on a daily basis) that is so versatile that it can act as a noun, verb, and/or adjective. The xǐ motif is written in the style of the double happiness 囍 sign (often used in weddings).
I also included a reversible double knitting pattern that I used as Lunar New Year decoration.
These are free patterns, so feel free to customize it to suit your needs as long as it is not for commercial for-profit use. Hopefully these are not too máfan to make!
