SÓLEY
These beautiful gloves were knitted by Signý Benediktsdóttir (1900-1991) from Balaskarð. She worked in the initials FG presumably those of the recipient, a man named Finnur Guðmundsson from Skrapatunga. He died in 1971, so the gloves are at least 50 years old.
These gloves are knitted with black as the main color and white as the contrast color. It’s always a challenge to knit gloves, especially when they are worked with stranded knitting. A project for an experienced knitter and, of course, you can knit your own initials into the project.
