The Sowing Seeds Socks, inspired by my move back to Iowa, are all-over colorwork socks. This beautiful look is achieved using mosaic knitting in garter stitch and is an amazing way to showcase variegated yarn.

The sock is knit from the cuff down, the heel is added using a heel flap and gusset, and the toe is grafted together using Kitchener stitch. Alternative instructions are given for a stockinette bottom of foot, for those with sensitive feet.

Sizes: 1 (2, 3, 4, 5) to fit a foot circumference of 6.5 (7.5, 8.5, 9.5, 10.5)”/17 (19, 22, 24, 27)cm.

Finished circumference: 6.5 (7.5, 8.5, 9.5, 10.5)”/17 (19, 22, 24, 27)cm.

Suggested Yarn: Fingering weight yarn, or yarn weight needed to obtain gauge. The sample shown here is knit using Kenya’s Knits Snowdrift Select yarn (75% Superwash Wool 21.5 mic/25% Recycled Nylon) in the Shadowsinger (main color) and Gamer (contrast color) colorways.
