Inspired by the blooming nature and this beautiful yarn I decided to design a fitting sock pattern. The spring bloomers socks reflect all the blooming leaves outside my window and showcases the beautiful nature the spring brings to all of us!

The pattern is made with a lot of cables so if your are comfortable with knitting cables this should be no problem for you! However if you are worried about the cables the pattern explains step by step how to knit them.

Spring Bloomers comes with two different length options for your leg which you can choose from. I’ve included instructions for a 14cm / 5,5” long leg and also for a 8 cm / 3,15” long leg.

The socks are worked from the cuff down and the toes are grafted using the Kitchener Stitch.

The spring bloomers socks come in three sizes (measured by the circumference of the foot): S (7’’ / 18cm), M (8’’ / 20cm) and L (9’’ / 23cm).

MATERIALS

You’ll need one skein of fingering weight sock yarn and if you want to knit your cuff, heel and toes in a different colour a mini skein of contrasting yarn. For my socks I used Atelier Zitron Wolkenspiel in “Froschkönig” as my main colour and Myboshi Sock Yarn in “Natural” as my contrasting colour.

A set of US size 1 (2.25mm) DPN’s or 9” circular knitting needles or 32” circular knitting needles, whichever is your prefered method for working a small sock circumference in the round.

An extra needle for the cables.

A tapestry needle to weave in loose ends.
