The Square Neck Crop is a fun layering top perfect for summer knitting and wearing. The design features a unique square neckline, textured slip stitch pattern in the yoke, and a simple cropped stockinette body in a contrasting color. The fun construction and finishing details like I-Cord edging on neckline and armholes and applied crochet chain around the yoke make for a simple, yet polished design. Knit up in Purl Soho’s Cotton Pure yarn, the Square Neck Crop is the perfect beach knitting project for summer!

Construction:
The Square Neck Crop starts with a provisional cast on and the back yoke is worked flat. The shoulders are worked separately and use German short rows for the shoulder shaping. Once the front neckline depth is achieved, the shoulders are joined and the remainder of the front yoke is worked as one piece. Stitches are picked up from the provisional cast on and the body is worked in stockinette st in the round. After finishing the body an applied crochet chain is worked around the garment where the yoke meets the body and an I-cord edging is worked on the neckline and armholes.
