There are few images as evocative as the full moon in a star-filled winter sky above a blanket of white snow. There is something terrifying and yet comforting in the aspect of the moon in a vast expanse of darkness.
The Stella Luna Collection celebrates the phases of the moon and the winter skies with Scandinavian and Baltic inspired knitting techniques that result in head-turning knits to wear and show off – cozy works of art.

Pay What Works

Inspired by Francoise Danoy of Aroha Knits I will be using a Pay What Works model for my pattern. I encourage you to check out her patterns for more information.

This model is an effort to both respect and value the worth of the work done by the designer and those involved in producing the pattern and to acknowledge that ours is not an inexpensive pursuit and that finances can be a barrier to engagement and participation.

The Ravelry price is the true price of the pattern. To purchase the pattern at a price point that is more accessible to you the coupon codes below can be used at checkout. The prices indicate the price you will pay, not the discount amount. No coupon code is needed for the base price for the pattern (highest price point).

This second pattern in the collection is for the Snow Moon Cowl and comes out with the February Snow Moon. It will keep your neck cozy and warm wherever winter chills find you and pairs beautifully with the Wolf Moon Mittens.

The Snow Moon Cowl is a quick knit (think weekend project) and includes two options for chart format, one is more suited to digital use and the other works better is hardcopy.

The pattern includes: detailed instructions; charts for the stranded designs; 2 chart formats; and an appendix with notes and tips on techniques used, and yarn selection and substitution

Each cowl requires 2 contrasting yarns, 180-200 yards/165-183 meters of the Main Colour (the blue in the sample); 105-115 yards/ 96-106 meters of the Contrast Colour (the white in the sample) of a yarn that weighs in at 218 yards/200 meters per 100 grams/3.5 ounces.

As written the cowl measures 11 inches/26 cm from edge to edge and 24.5 inches/ 62 cm around the circumference, with room to stretch the width. One can easily increase or decrease gauge or yarn weight to increase or decrease size.

Please note this pattern is the second of a collection patterns that will be released individually throughout 2020 and then complied into an ebook at the end of the year.
