The simple beauty of peg dolls is what inspired me to invent knitter-friendly versions, but later I learned that the simple beauty isn’t just for show. Peg dolls don’t typically have faces because it makes them easier to imagine with, which fosters open-ended play. For example, if a doll has a smile, it is harder for a child to imagine them sad. As an adult I may not play with them, but when I look at them on my mantle, I still appreciate how easy it is to imagine them doing or feeling anything. And that makes me blissfully happy.

Seamless Construction:
A body, knit in the round from skirt hem to hat top.
Arms, (one I-cord) knit in one piece and slid into position through arm hole.
Wooden bead head, that stays in place with a pipe cleaner.
Yarn hair, added with a tapestry needle.
Hat brim, knit in the round and slid over the hat top.
A hollow inside, meaning minimal ends to weave in. Just push the ends through as you go!
Supplies Needed: 12mm wooden bead, pipe cleaner.

Praise for Strawberry Harvest

Knitting was such a delight and I’m happy to have these enchanting ladies around. (Binse)

I really enjoyed knitting this little strawberry lady. Thank you, Natasha, for this fun pattern! BrambleberryBear

Lovely scrappy project. Very sweet look. Some finishing work, but still a quick knit. Sbsatty

This is a most delightful little project that uses only a minuscule amount of yarn. Deeni

I enjoyed every stitch of this new pattern by Natasha! (Sotnos)

I love the bright, happy look of Strawberry Harvest. I love strawberries, too. This is a doll of Summer. And, as with all of tashahanson’s Knit Peg Dolls, it is a fun knit (and a clear, easy-to-knit-from pattern). Teeliebhaberin

I love Natasha’s pattern! They are so lovingly made, with step-by-step instructions and lots of photos. They conjure up the magical world of the little creatures of nature in your home. (kleinesundfeines)
