Sunna Mittens

SUNNA
These classic, neatly patterned mittens are preserved in the Textile Museum. They were entered into a knitting competition held by Halldóra Bjarnadóttir; the knitter is unknown. The originals are knitted with a yellow contrasting color on a black main color.
The combination is unusual for the museum’s collection, which predominantly consists of mittens made with undyed wool. The pattern is reminiscent of machine-knitted pullovers from the middle of the 20th century. This design is perfect for beginners.
