The Swirled Beanie pattern gives you a hat where the ribs of the hat swirl around your head for a distinctive look.

The hat is made by making the main part in a single flat piece using half double crochet, which is then joined together and makes the ribbing swirl. Then the brim is added to complete the beanie.

The swirls are created by taking advantage of the 3rd loop of the half double crochet stitch to create the ribs. The ribbing will only look like it’s swirling after the sides of the piece come together.

To make the Swirled Beanie you will need:

• 200 meters of Caron Simply Soft
• 4.5mm hook for the brim and a 5mm hook for the main hat
• Needle for weaving in your ends

The beanie is designed to fit a standard ladies size of 21 inches in circumference.

This pattern would suit an intermediate level crocheter and the pattern includes photos to illustrate each step of the design.
