Inspired by the beauty of California sycamores, this cardigan is similarly simple, but stands out thanks to its textured details. Wide sleeves, straight lines and a bit of positive ease make this sweater a great layering piece, while fitted cuffs and worsted weight yarn will keep the wearer warm and cozy.

Sycamore Cardigan is knit seamless from the top down with saddle shoulders and dropped sleeves. The button band is worked at the same time with the body. Lines of seed stitch run from the collar over the shoulders and onto the balloon shaped sleeves, which are also embellished with Estonian braids and two types of nupps. Sycamore can be worn as a classic cardigan or buttoned as a pullover, and is offered in two body lengths.

Construction
The sweater is knit from the top down seamlessly. The body is worked back and forth. Saddle shoulders are decorated with seed stitch. Two front sections and the back are worked in stockinette. The button band is completed at the same time with the body.
Seed stitch panels of saddle shoulders continue on the sleeves, which are knit in the round straight to wrists with a variety of textured patterns. Decreases form the balloon shape, and then the cuff is finished in rib.
