ABOUT

Tao Beanie is a fun and engaging textured hat design worked in the round from the bottom up at a DK-weight gauge.

The knitter can choose from a stockinette or ribbed brim and will then work the crown in Tao stitch with stockinette crown decrease details.

The Tao stitch uses offset 1x1 rib interspersed with purl rows to create a rich texture that will keep you wanting to knit just one more repeat.

Tao Beanie is a sister pattern to the Tao Sweater. The pattern for Tao Sweater can be found in the Hive Knits Ravelry store here.

SIZING

This hat has been graded into 8 sizes:
Newborn (Baby) Todder (Child Small) Child Large (Adult Small) Adult Medium (Adult Large).

To fit head circumference:
40 (43) 46 (49) 52 (55) 58 (61) cm
15.75 (17) 18 (19.25) 20.5 (21.75) 22.75 (24) in

Finished hat circumference:

13.5 (15) 15.75 (16.5) 18 (18.75) 20.25 (21) in

The hat has been graded to fit with approximately 13% negative ease, meaning that the finished hat will be approximately 13% smaller than the intended wearer’s head circumference to ensure a snug fit. This translates to approximately 5-8 cm (2-3.25 in) negative ease depending on the size chosen.
