Tea Cosie Lining
This is a pattern to make a plain tea cosie lining for an average 2 pint tea pot. Although you could just use it as a tea cosie of you wish.
Many, many years ago, I made loads of novelty tea cosies which I sold for charity.
Some were made from purchased patterns but the best ones were made up as I went along! I Loved making them!!
Have a look here to see some of them! (And no, I no longer make them for sale and there are no patterns available - although I am currently working on the baby bird pattern.)
Some were a little top heavy, or even heavy to one side, and
I quickly realised that they would all benefit from having a plain and simple lining as a base layer, with the novelty cosie on top, then slip stitched together around the openings. I wrote this lining pattern for myself back in 2011 and recently thought maybe I should update it and publish for others.
Please note though, that it has not been tested (or even read through) by anyone other than myself! The pattern mentions you will need 50g of DK, using 2 strands held together - that doesn’t sound much but I’ve just made one and had enough.
(I’ve suggested Stylecraft but you can use whatever acrylic yarn you have.)
As it’s a lining that won’t show when in use, you can use any scrap yarn, so if you run short of one colour, just add something else into the mix.
If you think there are any errors in the pattern, or anything doesn’t make sense, you’re welcome to get in touch for support.
