The Bookini
A made-to-measure crochet book thong for every reader, every shelf. Quick to make, endlessly customizable, and free — always.
This pattern works to fit your book rather than a fixed stitch count, so gauge is not critical. A standard paperback takes about an hour start to finish. Two colors plus a contrast edging and an optional appliqué make it completely your own.
Construction: Worked in the round from a foundation chain or foundation HDC waistband, then flat in rows for the front panel, gusset, and back panel. Seamed to the waistband to finish.
Sizing: Made to measure — wrap your foundation around your closed book to determine your stitch count. Fits paperbacks, hardcovers, and everything in between.
Yarn: Any weight, any fiber. Cotton or cotton blends recommended for best results — the fabric holds its shape and lies flat between pages without stretching over time.
Finishing options included: Picot edge, shell edge, and reverse slip stitch.
