The Raffia Tote
A made-to-measure raffia mesh tote worked in the round from the base up. Free — always.
Construction: Worked in the round from a foundation chain, building a flat base with corner increases, then straight up for the mesh body. Top band and handles are worked last.
Yarn is held double at the base, top bands, and handles. Held single for the mesh.
Sizing: Made to measure — your starting chain determines the width, your base rounds determine the depth, and your mesh rounds determine the height. Make it exactly the size you want.
Yarn: WATG Ra Ra Raffia in Bardot Red. Any flat ribbon raffia works — avoid twisted or rope-style raffia for best results. Two skeins required.
Hook: 6.0mm throughout.
