The Caramel Washcloth
This cozy textured washcloth pattern combines cozy garter ridges with an engaging easy woven-like stitch that keeps your knitting interesting from start to finish. The thick, cushy fabric feels wonderful in the hand and provides gentle cleansing, making it perfect for everyday use. Quick to make and beginner friendly, it’s an ideal project for gift knitting or adding a handmade touch to your kitchen or bathroom. The stitch is actually quite simple despite its complex appearance!
Yarn: I used Yarn Bee Bamboo-Tiful DK in the color cognac for my sample. You’ll need about 60-68 yards or less. Any cotton/cotton blend scrap yarn should do.
Needles: For my cloth, I used size US 4 (3.5 mm) circular knitting needles, but straight needles would work fine.
Gauge: 23 sts and 30 rows over 4 inches worked flat in stitch pattern; but it really doesn’t matter much at all for this project – as long as your cloth has the desired fabric you’d want :)
Finished Size: approx. 6.5 by 6.5” square before first use (if gauge is obtained - finished size will vary depending on how you knit, your yarn, etc.)
