The December Beanie pattern is a classic double brimmed, close-fitting cap style, designed to suit both men and women. Written for six yarn weights (from double knit to super chunky), this versatile beanie is worked with a strand of mohair held together with the main yarn of the body to create a soft, luxurious fabric.

The pattern repeat is a multiple of eight stitches over one round and offers endless oppotunity for making your own.
You can choose to cast on using the instructions included for a provisional cast on or use a simpler method to form the double brim which is beautifully “squishy” in every weight!

Finished Size ~
Approximately 23 cm/9” wide by 21 cm/8.25” tall, to fit adult size 56 cm/22” - 61 cm/24” head circumference. There are slight variations across the yarn weights.

 40cm/16” circular needles and DPNs in sizes given for each yarn weight

Gauge ~
Gauge is given in pattern and knitted in the round using the larger recommended needle size for each yarn weight. Measurements should be taken unstretched and unblocked.

 Double Knit ~ 22 sts and 32 rnds = 10 cm x 10 cm/4” x 4”. WPI - 13
 Aran/Worsted ~ 18 sts and 26 rnds = 10 cm x 10 cm/4” x 4”. WPI - 11
 Light Chunky ~ 16 sts and 24 rnds = 10 cm x 10 cm/4” x 4”. WPI - 10
 Chunky ~ 14 sts and 20 rnds = 10 cm x 10 cm/4” x 4”. WPI - 8
 Light Super Chunky ~ 12 sts and 16 rnds = 10 cm x 10 cm/4” x 4”. WPI - 7
