Introducing the December Hood! A versatile accessory perfect for the cooler months from autumn through spring. It can be worn as a cosy cowl, pulled up as a hood, or tightened with the I-cord to keep out the chill, making it a wardrobe staple.

This pattern is worked in aran/worsted weight yarn held together with lace-weight mohair or suri to create a soft, warm fabric. Knitting is done in stockinette with an I-Cord edge, both flat and in the round, and the piece is worked from the bottom up.

Gauge ~
Because this pattern is worked both flat and, in the round, it is important to check your gauge for both. Many knitters find their tension is tighter in the round than when working flat. In my samples, the gauge remained consistent on 5 mm needles; however, this is because I use combination knitting for flat rows, your results may differ and you may have to use a larger needle size when working in the round.
