The Huddle Hood pattern is here! It’s named that because you can genuinely huddle right into it. This cosy shape-shifter is perfect from autumn through spring, wear it as a snuggly cowl, pull it up as a hood, or go full “don’t talk to me, it’s freezing” and tighten the I-cord around your face to keep the chill out.

The cowl section is totally customisable. Keep it short and sweet, make it long enough to hide behind, or work it double for extra level warmth. The pattern includes five sizes: Toddler, Child, Teen, Adult S/M, and Adult M/L.

You can make the Huddle Hood in almost any yarn weight from worsted to chunky, as long as you meet gauge. It’s worked from the bottom up, first in the round, then flat, with short rows shaping the crown so you don’t end up with a little gnome point at the back. After the short rows, you’ll graft the opening together for a smooth, seamless join (very satisfying). Then finish with a neat casing around the hood opening to cosy up with an I-cord drawstring.
