A wonderfully cosy top down sweater crocheted in Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash Wave. The ever changing colours and resulting combinations in the yarn make this garment a joy to make!

An intermediate level pattern, written in UK terms. The pattern is written in 5 adult sizes.

This sweater is worked from the top down, starting with the neck which is crocheted in rows and joined to form a tube, these rows are then worked into at a 90 degree angle in rounds. After increasing for the shoulders the armhole slits are created before continuing to work in rounds for the body. Stitches are worked into the armhole slits and the sleeves are crocheted in rounds with decreases. Cuffs and waistband are worked in rows in a similar way to the neck.

If you are using the Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash Wave you will quickly notice that each skein is unique and has a different balance of colours! You can choose to either use the colours in a completely random way or you can take a bit of time to run each new skein into the last and change colours for the body, waistband and cuffs. If you are taking time over the colours it’s a good idea to buy an extra skein to give you more colour choice when reaching the end of your garment.

This patterns uses mostly double crochet sitches as well as foundation double crochet stitches and foundation half treble stitches (UK terms). If you are unsure of foundation stitches they are definitely worth learning because it creates a much stretchier finish than standard chain stitches.

As with all my patterns this pattern has been thoroughly tested. This one has also been tech edited for added reliability. However, should you have any issues, please feel free to send me a message on here or email me mrsdaftspaniel@gmail.com and I will do my best to help you out.

Happy hooking,

Marta xx
