This Thirteenth Doctor inspired shawl is a top-down lacy rectangular wrap crocheted in the Doubled Lattice stitch. From the moment I saw Jodie Whittaker’s shirt, I knew I wanted to make a shawl inspired by it. But this was left swirling around in my head for months. Even after her first episode, I still wasn’t sure quite what I wanted to make. But in her second episode, we finally saw her TARDIS, with its amazing hexagons and crystals, and I knew what I wanted to do. The result is this wrap.

I used 650 metres (220 grams) of Stylecraft Special DK (SSDK) in my base colour of black, and 24 metres (8 grams) per stripe colour.

This striped lace wrap is 142 by 76 cm (56 by 30 inches) when crocheted according to the pattern. However the pattern is completely flexible - make it as large or as small as you like just by changing the foundation chain in multiples of 6 and crocheting your choice of row numbers. By adjusting the pattern you can also use a yarn as fine or as chunky as you like.

An optional edging inspired by the TARDIS crystals is offered.

Possible alternative colour schemes are offered in Scheepjes Stone Washed, Bendigo Woollen Mills Luxury, and Malabrigo Rios.
