Thorfinn the Gnome
There’s No Place Like Gnome “Thorfinn” is a wee rascal of a Gnome.
What is unique about Thorfinn is his ability to change his beard. One day it might be “Viking”, then the next day it might be a “Ginger”. The choices are as many as your imagination can create.
The pattern is knit in the round using double pointed needles .
Thorfinn stand 4.5” tall from head to his roly poly base. With his toque, he stands 8” tall.
I use worsted weight yarn. The size 2 (2.75mm) needles and the worsted wt yarn produces the correct “texture” (dense fabric type) for the gnome.
This pattern is perfect for “Stash” knitting.
The body is stuffed semi firm and the head is stuffed firmly. If the knit product is too loose to begin with, the stuffing pulls the stitches and it shows through. Yuck.
I would strongly suggest using wool or wool alpaca or merino yarn.
If you choose to use acrylic yarn, I cannot guarantee the final result. It will not look like the photos included in the pattern.
No buttons or beads are used to finish the Thorfinn the Gnome. It makes for a perfect gift for any age. Gnomes are not only for the Christmas season.

P.S. I have gone over and knit the pattern several times. If you do find an error, please contact me. Many thanks. Cheers!
