This is a plus-size friendly crochet pattern for a GORGEOUS tutu-style skirt with three tiers of ruffles, a waistband, belt loops and a belt. Its purpose is to give dramatic wide hips, and to create lots of movement when you walk or dance. This tutu is not meant to fully cover the butt (you will need to wear shorts underneath), however there are instructions to make the skirt longer. Be ready to fall in love with this bouncy, extravagant baby!

In this pattern, you will find detailed instructions (with pictures) on how to create the waistband, all 3 ruffle layers, the belt loops and belt. There are also instructions on how to insert elastics in the waistband, as well as 2 different trim options to decorate your ruffle layers.

Difficulty: 3.5/10 (advanced beginner).

Knowledge required: slip stitches, chains, single crochets, double crochets, treble crochets and single crochet increases and decreases.

Materials:

at least 700 grams of acrylic or cotton yarn (refer to the size guide);
4 mm hook for the belt;
4.5 mm hook for the waistband;
5 mm hook for the ruffles;
0.5 mm thick elastic thread (optional but HIGHLY recommended);
a tape measurer;
stitch markers;
tapestry needle;
scissors.

Approximate time to complete the project: 10-25h+ (heavily depends on size).
