Tiny scallops tea cosy
by Lynne Barkas
The front and back of this tea cosy are worked side ways on, with the vertical scallops added later. The shaping technique creates eyelets through which the drawstring is threaded, finished off with beads. The frilly top consists of a round of tassels.
This pattern is written using UK abbreviations/terminology with a 4-cup tea pot in mind, but the more experienced crocheter would be able to adapt it for other sizes. The approximate guage is 4 rows and 7sts of trebles to 4cm.
One 100g ball of double knitting yarn will be sufficient for at least one cosy with oddments used for contrasting decoration.
