Tranquillity Shawl is all about slowing down, exhaling deeply, and enjoying the quiet rhythm of simple stitches.

Designed to be as relaxing to knit as it is to wear, this triangular shawl is worked from the top down in smooth stocking stitch and gentle texture created through nothing more than knit and purl. It’s the kind of project you can sink into - perfect for peaceful evenings, mindful moments, or whenever you need a little calm.

Yarn requirements
1 full 100g skein of 4ply / sock yarn for the body of the shawl
20 - 25g of 4ply / sock yarn for the border

The body of the shawl uses a single 100g skein of 4ply, allowing your main colour to shine in all its simplicity.

To finish, there’s a short, and simple, lace border in a contrast colour.

The border is just 11 rows and perfect for using up a small quantity of yarn. (It may be possible to use a 20g mini skein – I did for the sample - though you’ll want to check your yardage carefully, as I used nearly every last metre).

This small addition creates a quiet shift in tone and texture – a subtle finishing touch that gently lifts the whole piece.

Skill level
Suitable for all levels, Tranquillity Shawl is an invitation to slow your stitches, listen to the soothing click of the needles, and find stillness in the flow of the yarn through your fingers.
