Each spring the Skagit Valley bursts forth in a patchwork of color - when the daffodil and tulip fields spring to life.

This pattern is loosely based on a 16th century cross stitch sampler border… it reminds me of the rows and rows of tulips about to bloom!

As written, the hat will fit most adult heads. I don’t like colorwork to stretch, and thus show the floats behind, so it is sized to NOT be stretched anywhere except the brim. If you need it to be smaller, I recommend to size down your needles - as it is a 20 stitch repeat and is only written as one size. If you need it larger, I’ve used 4s and 5s with my hand painted yarn… but my fingering is very plump. With other yarns, your mileage may vary!

I would greatly appreciate a follow on instragram… I’m a sporadic poster at best so I promise I won’t drown you in pretty yarn photos… but I am starting a mystery sock yarn club and would love to build my audience. Merci beaucoup!
