The simplest of hat patterns, perfect for your first foray into tuque knitting or knitting it the round.

Inspired by the classic Dave Brubeck song, this pattern encourages you
to rest, recharge create something beautiful, and “Take Five” for yourself. This pattern is written out in full, designed for adventurous beginners.

You’ll learn to knit in the round (with the option of tackling magic loop!), work ribbing stitch, and simple decreases. The bulky weight yarn make this hat knit up rapidly for a super satisfying knit. This is a fantastic pattern to use for your gorgeous bulky hand spun yarns too. Row gauge is less important here, so one less thing to think about!

Jazz is all about improvisation, so feel free to mix things up and create something truly unique.
Add stripes, a pompom, or “plug in stitches” (a multiple of 5 or 10). Let’s get tuned up & knit!

You’ll need:
100 yards of bulky yarn
1 pair of US 11 - 8.00 mm, 40”+ (101 cm) cable circular needle, or size needed to reach gauge
1 bodkin/darning needle
1 measuring tape
