This design is a double layer hat with a fold up brim. One layer is a sport weight yarn held together with a tweed carry along. You begin at the top of the crown and work to the bottom of the brim. Then, swap the sport weight yarn for a silk/mohair blend and, still carrying the tweed carry along, make a mirror image of the first layer. Once complete and blocked, insert one layer inside the other and fold up the brim.

The hat is completely reversible and can be worn with the contrast color brim or with the brim left unfolded for a slouchier look.

You can easily use a substitute for either the sport weight or the silk/mohair blend. Overall dimensions of each section of the hat (crown, body, ribbed brim) are noted so you can duplicate the hat even with alternate yarns.
