Underhoull hat
The Underhoull hat is named after a place in Unst which has been lived in over a long period. Excavations show an early Iron Age broch followed by Viking houses all on the same site. This design incorporates a Fair Isle motif in the brim and used a simple seed pattern in the main design normally reserved for the underarms of ganseys.
I would recommend using 100% Shetland wool for best results, the ultimate in keeping you warm.
The pattern is one size adult but the actual size can be changed using larger or smaller needle sizes.
Please pay particular attention to the required tension as my knitting tends to be close.
This design uses 6 shades of Jamieson’s of Shetland Spindrift
