UNTAMED
Raw. Timeless. Instinctual.
Inspired by the raw and the timeless, the untamed forces that can’t be reasoned with or controlled. Like crashing waves, like the pull of intuition, the spirit of dragons. This design celebrates that wild current — the soul that moves beyond logic, shaping form through spirit and creation.
Construction
Worked flat from tip to edge, this shawl grows into an asymmetric dragon-tail shape. Increases along one side add width, while short rows form the stepped, jagged silhouette.
The pattern is relaxing and meditative once you learn the two special elements — the X-motifs and stacked scs (both are explained with photos + video tutorial). From Row 5 onward, it’s a simple 4-row repeat that lets the shape unfold naturally.
Stitches Used
ch, sc, dc, ss — plus X-motifs made from these basics.

Gauge & Yarn Notes
Because of the expressive curve of the design, the result can vary depending on yarn choice. Labels aren’t always comparable — fiber content, spin, and texture all influence drape.
The yarns listed above have been tested with great results, but feel free to explore! Try to match weight as closely as possible… and always remember:
If in doubt, swatch it out!
