Upstream explores repetition and contrast: Three striking diagonal lines scatter across a backdrop of stripes, evoking images of frost patterns on windowpanes.

Employing the technique of slip-stitch knitting and using a wintery mix of silver and blue, an insulating and textured fabric emerges. The tonal palette feels suited to the quieter, atmospheric moods of cooler months.

Upstream has an asymmetrical triangular shape, is constructed bottom up, increases along the left-hand edge on the right side of the work, includes a 3-stitch i-cord border, and can be made larger or smaller to suit preferences. Wrap it snugly around the neck for a cowl-like silhouette, or drape it open across the shoulders as a traditional wrap.
