A light and lacy hat pattern designed to show off one of my favourite stitches. The lace stitch creates beautiful, elegant waves all around the hat.

A matching cowl is available in my Ravelry store.

Yarns and meterage used:
Red is Wensleydale Longwool aran (110m)
Purple is WYS Aire Valley aran (105m)
Blue is Rowan Felted Tweed aran (92m)

I am not a pattern designer. I simply enjoy playing around with stitches and seeing what I can make. If you spot a mistake or have a question please send me a message.

Some things you might like to know before downloading the pattern.
Finished Size:
Fits a head up to 58cm comfortably.
19.5cm high.

Skill Level
Advanced beginner.

Skills needed:
Casting on, the knit stitch, the purl stitch, knitting two stitches together, yarn over and knitting in the round.

Materials Required.
95-115m aran weight yarn to knit the hat as written.
4.5mm 50cm circular needles and DPNs or size needed to obtain tension.
Stitcher marker (recommended but optional)
Darning needle to sew in ends.

Tension/Gauge is approximately 17 stitches x 24 rows to 10cm. The three test knit yarns varied from 19 x 25 to 16 x 23 but the hats all came out very similar in size.

Notes
This hat is knit in the round from the bottom up.
The pattern is written in a line by line format only, no charts.
I used the cable cast on but any any cast on with some stretch works.
The pattern repeat is 6 stitches and 10 rows.
Two downloads are available one with pictures and one without.
With a tension square and a bit of maths this pattern is easily adapted to other yarn weights.

Now for the the boring bit.
With respect please do not take credit for the pattern, claim the pattern as your own or sell the pattern. Selling completed hats is fine but not the pattern or any part of the pattern. If you sell the hats online please link back to me for pattern credit.
