  • please read* Unfortunately, I have had to increase the price of this pattern to $2.00 usd. PayPal’s new fee increases has forced me to increase my $1.00 patterns. I am so sorry that I have had to do this, but it is a slap in the face to have 52% of the sale of my patterns taken from me in fees. I hope to reduce the price back to $1.00 as soon as I can get a website up and running. Thank you for your support ♥️ (Much love).

  • Update * I have added adaptations for using DK weight in this pattern to make it easier on those who chose DK over fingering.

The Way Out West Cowl is a bandana styled cowl worked completely in the round.
Since this method of bandana cowl was an experiment for me, I wanted to keep the design simple and so I used some garter rows for texture.
This cowl uses fingering weight yarn, and you can use any fibre that suits your liking.
I absolutely love how it looks when worn, and I hope you do as well.

There is no strict gauge for this pattern, but I did measure a gauge for those who like to gauge swatch.
For a 4x4 swatch there are 30 stitches and 40 rows.
This cowl is a one size fits most. If you feel that my gauge I have provided is too tight, try going up
a needle size or two from the size recommended.
This pattern uses approximately 395-400 yards of fingering weight yarn. Of a 100g skein, I used approximately 90g
You will also need size 3.50mm/US4 16 inch circular needles, and tapestry needle.

I originally overlooked including the finished measurements of the cowl.
Here are my sample measurements:
top circumference of the cowl is 24”
from the front top to the pointed tip is 14 1/8” long
