Meet the Wheat Stitch™ Jellyfish, a soft, swirly sea friend that’s as fun to make as it is to squish. It’s worked in the round in Wheat Stitch™, giving the body a lovely textured look.

It’s part of the Hooked on the Sea collection of six ocean animal amigurumi, all made with Wheat Stitch. Add a bit of stuffing and it is ready to float off into a sea of smiles.

✨ What makes it work

• Dome body with a ruffle. A playful shell stitch ruffle runs around the edge.
• Curly, bouncy tentacles. Made separately and simply tied on, no sewing required.
• Easy finish. Attach the base and add a little stuffing.
• You’re not on your own. Video tutorial and written pattern included.

✂️ What you’ll need

• Yarn: Herrschners My Ami (55% acrylic/45% cotton, 120 yds/50 g)
• Yardage: Grape (dark purple) 50 yds, Lilac (light purple) 40 yds.
• Love a swap? Brava Worsted, WeCrochet · Herrschners Worsted 8 · Dishie, WeCrochet. For a fuzzy one of a kind sea friend, try Feels Like Bliss, Lion Brand. Any yarn from fingering to bulky works; just adjust your hook.
• Hook: G (4.0mm), or size to meet gauge
• Tools: Removable Stitch Markers · Yarn Needle · Scissors
• To finish like the sample: Fiberfill · Safety Eyes · Jute Twine for tags
