There was a gift exchange game of white elephant at my husband’s company holiday party last year. I knitted a cashmere hat for my gift exchange and it was a pretty popular item. It got “stolen” for the maximum allowed time! For this year, being not too creative in that respect, I planned on sticking to what worked last time and make another hat. That gave me the idea to design one for the occasion. The stitch pattern and color both need to be suitable for men and women. Something classic that blends well with the luxurious cashmere. Then the White Elephant Hat was born.
