This is a written pattern for a windspinner. Several pictures are added to explain some of the details.

The level is intermediate.

Stitches and (US-)terms used in this pattern:

• foundation chain, a chain of chainstitches can be used instead
• ch = chainstitch
• slst = slipstitch
• sc = single crochet
• hdc = half double crochet
• dc = double crochet
• trc = treble crochet
• incr = increase
• picot of ch 2 = ch 2, slst 1 in the second chain from the hook
• picot of ch 1 = ch 1, slst 1 in flo of the last made stitch

For this windspinner I used acrylic yarn (Stylecraft Special dk or Scheepjes colourcrafter) which is 295 m/322 yards per 100 gram, and hooksize 3.5.
My windspinner was 13 cm/5.12 inches long and 9 cm/3.5 inches wide.
I needed about 42 meters/46 yards of yarn, in 5 different colors.

You can use a different yarn instead, if you like. The windspinner can be bigger or smaller in that case.

Other materials you need:
-A small weight to hang under the windspinner. For example: a few beads or a small (crochet) item.
-A single string or cord for hanging the windspinner. You can use a single string of yarn for that.
