This is a written pattern for a windspinner. The pattern includes several pictures to show how it should look like.

It’s a yarn-only project (like all of my windspinners so far).

For this windspinner I used acrylic yarn: Stylecraft Special dk or similar, which is about 300 meter/328 yards per 100 gram.

I used hooksize 3.0

This windspinner is about 8 cm/ 3.15 inches wide, the length can be adjusted by making row 1 longer or shorter.

I needed 45 meter/ 50 yards of yarn for the orange/red/white windspinner on the picture.
This windspinner is 17 cm/ 6.7 inches in length.

The pink/white/red windspinner is about 28 cm/ 11 inches in length. (—Note that this was an early version of this pattern, the final pattern has some improvements.)

The level is advanced intermediate.

Stitches and (US-) terms used in this pattern:

• ch = chainstitch
• slst = slipstitch
• sc = single crochet
• hdc = half double crochet
• dc = double crochet
• trc = treble crochet
• breakaway circle (explanation on page 2, and you should also watch Breakaway Crochet on YouTube )
• frontpost / backpost stitch
• decr = decrease
• incr = increase
• blo = in backloop only
